INTRODUCTION

 

Doctor Nitcher is a general adult psychiatrist providing complete psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy.  

 

Doctor Nitcher graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in 1988. He completed a four year psychiatric residency at the Creighton-Nebraska Universities Health Foundation in 1992.  He became Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1995.  He has worked in Omaha, NE in a private practice setting since finishing residency.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

At the first appointment, patients can expect to spend about an hour discussing the reasons for their visit, reviewing treatment options, and making plans for follow-up if indicated.  The majority of follow-up visits are of about twenty minute's duration.  In these sessions problem areas are again reviewed, medication adjustments are made if necessary, and questions are addressed.  These follow-up visits can be of longer duration, if requested and indicated, to provide more time for psychotherapy.  Most commonly,  cognitive, supportive, and goal-oriented psychotherapy are used.

 

The practice is limited to adults eighteen years old and above.  New patient referrals are accepted as the schedule allows.
